Well, if you’re one of the fans who has been patiently (or impatiently) biding their time, waiting and waiting for Netent to finally release the sequel to Twin Spin – one of their most popular titles – then we’re happy to announce that the wait is finally over!
That’s right. With very little fanfare or notice, Netent has dropped this bombshell on us. So – how does the game stack up?
Let’s start with the one major difference between gen 1 and 2: Cluster Pays. As opposed to the traditional payout system of matching symbols from left to right, Twin Spin Deluxe utilises Netent’s unique cluster pays system, where wins are calculated based on adjacent matching symbols – symbols grouped into clusters if you will.
This hasn’t pleased all fans (not everyone is okay with cluster pays), but for most of us, this is an exciting and novel change of direction for a classic game!
Gameplay and Design
Rather than being a 243-ways-to-win slot, Twin Spin Deluxe uses Cluster Pays to handle its payouts. Otherwise, it’s clearly an enhancement on the original game. The symbols – cherries, BARs, diamonds, 7’s – have been spruced up a little, and the animation is super clean.
Played with bets between $0.1-$100 and a maximum payout of 1,000x your stake, there’s the potential to win a large wedge with Twin Spin Deluxe. More importantly, however, is the regularity of wins, especially with the Twin Reels.
The theoretical payout percentage is 96.01%, which isn’t as good as many slots, but still very acceptable.
Unlike many video slots, there’s no dedicated bonus round with Twin Spin Deluxe. Instead, two reels will be synchronised on every single spin. This boosts your odds of getting a win with cluster pays! Even better, the number of synced reels can increase to 3, 4 or even all 5 reels. The big payout comes with a screen full of diamonds, so keep your eyes peeled for shiny gems with the twin reels!
