Emerald Dream Quad Shot - An Unconventional Entry from Ainsworth

Emerald Dream Quad Shot is one of those games which will polarise audiences: many will say it’s basic, unimaginative, and a bit old-fashioned. Others will say its tasteful, high-paying, and not over-the-top like so many slots these days.

We’ll leave that opinion up to you! What we’re going to do is review the game closely, and give an (largely unbiased) review of what’s going on. If that’s something you’d like to hear, then carry on reading!

Gameplay Overview & Symbols

No soundtrack, slow chugging as the reels spin, and then an empty smack when they strike home. Combined with the early-noughties graphics, the aesthetics of Emerald Dream Quad Shot are as likely to turn players away as to reel them in – possibly even more so! The game is bright and colourful, which makes it look a bit better, but I’m probably going to play this one with a good Spotify playlist or movie on in the background!

This is the latest game in the Quad Shot series by Ainsworth. You’ll notice the extra spinning symbol to the right of the reels – while this does nothing on its own, it is extremely powerful when combined with a winning combo on the reels! When you get a 5-of-a-kind win on the normal reels, and the quad shot symbol, you will unlock one of the four jackpots sitting pretty above the reels.

The Mini, Minor, Maxi and Major jackpots are all worth increasing amounts, and winning any one of them will mean a huge payout for you!

You will also encounter stacked wilds fairly regularly, as is becoming increasingly common on Ainsworth games. These beauties will fill the entire reel, massively increasing your chance of striking a winning combination.

Special Features

While it’s a pretty impressive array of features and bonuses contained within the base game, they aren’t a patch on what you’ll find if you activate the free spins round! As with most games, this is the most powerful and lucrative situation you can find yourself in while playing Emerald Dream.

Players only need to land 2 or more scatters to trigger the bonus feature, which is one fewer than the majority of games out there! During play the stacked wilds become even more prevalent, which is great news.

There’s nothing special about this round in terms of animations or amazingly innovative payouts – it does pay out big amounts, however. You can expect to take home many times your stake, despite only winning 8 spins. If your luck is in, maybe you’ll trigger some more!

Our Verdict

Emerald Dream is an Ainsworth game. That means it’s essentially quite simple, with a focus on payouts. They’re similar to Playtech in that way, and there are a lot of players out there who are 100% in favour of this method.

If you’re not looking for bells and whistles, give Emerald Dream a go and see how you get on!
