Welcome to Joker Gems, a game set in the farthest reaches of the cosmos, where diamonds are like water and riches abound. It’s a simple game from ELK Studios, and plays similarly to a classic slot in many ways. There is the potential for high-value regular payouts, but also a series of jackpots up for grabs!

Gameplay Overview & Symbols
Joker Gems is pretty peculiar from the outset. The reels make up taller-than-average 5×5 grid, and the symbols cascade from the sky and use Cluster Pays technology to identify winning combinations.
Unusually, only 5-10 or so of the 25 spaces on the grid are filled with symbols on each spin. Not only is this unsettling when you’re new to the game, it almost feels like you’re being cheated somehow. The trick is, that once you land a winning cluster (usually of no more than 3 symbols) a respin is triggered where those winning symbols are locked in place.
This continues until no symbols add to your existing cluster. While it’s true you can build up heavy wins this way (up to 700x stake for 16 Jokers at once) it just feels like every regular spin goes completely unrewarded.
Completely randomly-activated, the Light Chaser races across the screen, before unleashing a cluster of 4-5 symbols which triggers a new respin. While this doesn’t sound exceptional, it doesn’t guarantee a 5-part cluster and offers the potential for much more
The jackpots on offer are 3 different sizes: $10,000, $20,000, and £50,000. While these are randomly triggered, your odds marginally increase by wagering higher sums of cash. While this might not seem fair to some players, it is reasonable enough: bet more, get a better chance of winning the prize.
Joker Gems is not going to set anyone’s world alight. The game feels too basic to compete in 2018, but there’s no denying that it’s mathematically possible to win big – the real question is whether anyone will try to!
