This latest slot from Playson, Sevens & Fruits, does exactly what it says: there are sevens, there are various fruits, and that’s about it. The game is essentially a classic slot with 5 reels, and lacks any of the high-powered bonus rounds we’ve come to expect from major developers in recent years.
If you like your games simple, slow, and medium-variance, then carry on reading!
Styled in the form of a classic slots game, Sevens & Fruits is aimed at those players who enjoy simpler, more predictable gameplay.
Playing the Game
Sevens & Fruits has 5 paylines, but since the slot pays both ways, it’s more like 10. There are only 15 symbols across 5 reels, and the graphic design is relatively pleasing. The background is a wavy flame-like fusion of reds and blacks, while the reels themselves are have relatively high-quality artwork.
Unfortunately, it’s there where the positives come to an end for the most part. For a start, when you finish a spin, there’s a 2 second pause where the “spin” button is greyed out – so it’s hard to generate any kind of rhythm to your spins.
The main selling point of the game is the array of classic-style symbols. The list includes:
- Cherries – 40x for 5-on-a-payline
- Lemons – 40x
- Oranges – 40x
- Plums – 40x
- Grapes – 100x
- Melons – 100x
- Red 7 – 1000x
- Scatter – 50x
In terms of variance, this game is somewhere along the middle of the road: payouts are not too sporadic, but neither are they generally high-value. Of course, now and then a player will get lucky and land a giant win with some 7s, but otherwise there’s not much to shout about.
Players can wager between $0.10 and $100 per spin, meaning that, in theory, there’s up to $100,000 available per spin!
Special features are pretty thin on the ground when it comes to Sevens & Fruits. In fact, there isn’t really anything at all. The game does have a scatter symbol, and if you land 3, 4, or 5 of them at once on a payline… you earn 2x, 10x, or 50x your stake.
Seriously, the scatter is the 2nd-worst symbol in the game, and doesn’t offer any of the bonuses we normally associate with it. If you’re going to play Sevens & Fruits, you need to cross your fingers and hope for Red 7s, ‘cause that’s where the money is at!
Unfortunately, Sevens & Fruits is one of the most boring and uninteresting slots to have been released in 2018…and perhaps ever! The graphics are understated and almost refined, in a way, but the game is slow, pays infrequently, and lacks any special features whatsoever. In this day and age, there’s simply no reason to play a slot offering so little.
